John E. Tingley
John E. Tingley was a seasoned architect with a passion for travel and storytelling. His journey began at the University of Oregon in 1975, where he studied architecture before embarking on a life-changing Grand Tour of Europe and the Middle East.
Without the conveniences of modern technology, he relied on his innate curiosity and a traveler’s spirit to explore the unknown. This experience, which took him from the busy bazaars of Istanbul to the serene landscapes of the Sinai Desert, is the foundation of his memoir, Somewhere and Back Again.
His writing reflects his unique perspective as an architect, bringing together his observations on history, culture, and human creativity. John invites readers to see the world through his eyes and find their own path.
